SITQ’s Green Expertise Sought after by the French Government

Méka Brunel, Managing Director for SITQ Europe, was appointed last November by Philippe Pelletier, President of the Strategic Planning Committee for French Government’s Plan Bâtiment Grenelle, to head the study "green value" as it relates to real estate.

Bringing together professionals from real estate and heritage assessment, the working group aims to evaluate the impact that environmental data and sustainable development have on property values. "It (the group) is to establish a modus operandi to take into account the energy performance when appraising assets. The findings could result in an agreement between the various players in order to ensure consideration of the sustainability of buildings, "says Méka Brunel.

This working group is already organized into sub-groups: "Identification of Standards and Practices in Effect", led by Philippe Guillerm (President of Cushman & Wakefield Expertise), "Strategic Environmental Standards for Assets", co –chaired by Philippe Brion, (Deputy CEO of Generali) and Francis Netter (Executive Director of Groupama), and "Creating Green Value", led by lawyer Me Philippe Lefèvre (Partner  with Lefèvre Pelletier & Associates).

Reinforcing their corporate values, SITQ sponsored the first ever Pierre d’Or for sustainable real estate award at  the 2010 Pierres d’Or ceremony on February 3rd. The annual event was held at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine de Paris and is now in its 12th year.

For the occasion, Méka Brunel, Managing Director for SITQ Europe, had the honour of presenting the Pierre d’Or for sustainable real estate to none other than Philippe Pelletier.

SITQ proudly sponsored this new award, which recognizes organizations or individuals actively promoting sustainable real estate development in France.
