Property management specialist Craig Bradshaw joins Avison Young in Vancouver

Michael Keenan, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Vancouver office, announced that Craig Bradshaw has joined the firm to launch its new property management service in Vancouver, BC.

Effective immediately, Bradshaw joins Avison Young as Vice-President, Property Management, BC. He will direct the growth of Avison Young's property management business coverage in Vancouver and throughout BC, and recruit leading industry professionals to build the team.

"Craig is among the elite property management executives in Canada and a true industry leader. We couldn't be more thrilled to have him lead the building of our property management team in British Columbia," comments Keenan. "Unlike with the more traditional silo model favoured by competitors, our goal is to provide a full-service, integrated approach whereby our leasing, investment and property management groups operate as one cohesive unit."

Specializing in the delivery of third-party commercial property management services, Bradshaw brings more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. For the past two and half years, he served as Vice-President, Business Development, Western Canada for Arcturus Realty (a division of engineering firm SNC Lavalin) in Vancouver, where he focused on third-party property-management-portfolio development for the company. Before joining Arcturus, he spent 14 years with Colliers International, rising to lead the firm's commercial property management operations in BC.

During his career, Bradshaw has been responsible for teams managing in excess of 17 million square feet (msf) of commercial real estate. He has provided strategic advisory services to landlords, investors and developers, and has developed comprehensive management solutions to specific client and portfolio requirements.

In addition to serving the needs of Vancouver-based clients, Bradshaw will assist clients based in other parts of British Columbia, Canada and the U.S. while working with Avison Young's property management professionals throughout the company.

Avison Young currently has approximately 70 msf of retail, industrial and office properties under management in Canada and the U.S.

"The addition of property management services through Craig's hiring will enable our Vancouver operations to provide a service that our clients have been asking for," adds Keenan. "Craig has a proven track record of creating value-added solutions for clients' individual real estate needs and challenges. He is well known and respected by clients and peers alike. Through Craig's leadership, we will create a full-service offering that will enable our local, national and international clients to meet their business and real estate objectives."

Bradshaw holds a diploma in urban land economics from the University of British Columbia and the Certified Shopping Centre Manager (CSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC). Over the years, he has been involved in various charitable activities, including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and the Canadian Cancer Society.

"I was drawn to Avison Young's client-centric culture and innovative approach to providing comprehensive commercial real estate services," says Bradshaw. "Avison Young is a truly collaborative operation, and I look forward to using the internal capabilities of our team to create unique solutions that meet the needs and requirements of our clients. The total sharing of information and opportunity within the company is unprecedented in our very competitive industry."

The Vancouver office of Avison Young comprises nearly 70 commercial real estate sales and leasing specialists and staff members.

"We intend to aggressively pursue the numerous opportunities in the market that currently lack a well-disciplined, cost-effective and value-enhancing approach to property management," Bradshaw adds.
